Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager - Entry Level or Experienced

As Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be part of the dedicated facility, warehouse and fleet management operations team at Lothrop Companies, Inc. Our company specializes in scaffold design, construction and rentals and we proudly serve a loyal and expanding customer base in Boston, around the greater Boston area and throughout New England.
You will be trained on how to effectively execute daily activity plans to support dynamic construction projects, manage inventories of supplies, tools and equipment, operate a forklift, load/unload trucks & trailers, manage/maintain the company's fleet of trucks & trailers, and transport or stage deliveries & pickups for our crews in the field.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Execute projects, activities and routines directed by facility supervisor
- Organize and maintain inventory, tools, and storage areas
- Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
- Prepare shipments. Load & unload trucks and trailers
- Assist with the maintenance of the fleet (trucks, trailers & equipment).
- Maintain items’ record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovations for improvement and/or adjust existing work procedures and practices
- Learn to operate forklift; move steel scaffolding equipment to organize incoming shipments, count and return incoming shipments to stock
- Facilitate delivery using company vehicles including but not limited to: pickup trucks, trailers, and flatbed trucks
- Ability and willingness to follow, lead, exemplify and teach all safety rules and regulations
- 40-45 hour weeks
- A typical daily schedule: 11am - 8pm, Monday - Friday.
- Willing & able to work overtime, including occasional weekends.
Requirements
- You must be 18-years or older and be proficient in English
- Must be a current Massachusetts or New Hampshire resident, approved to work in the United States indefinitely and without restrictions
- Must pass a comprehensive identity verification and background check
- Must have and maintain reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to learn and assist other roles and functions while not actively working in warehouse, that includes and not limited to; construction support in the field, administrative duties, customer service fulfillment, planning and more.
- Ability and willingness to follow, lead, exemplify and teach all safety rules and regulations
- Ability to work standard shift 11am - 8pm, Monday - Friday, and as needed on weekends, knowing these shifts are subject to change temporarily or permanently as the role and organization evolve, develop and grow. Must be able and willing to work overtime as needed, with little or no notification
