Job Purpose: Leads a high-performance work team of schedulers, team leaders, and operators in all aspects of interplant logistics and warehouse operations

Responsibilities:

• Supervises and trains employees
• Coordinates in and out-bound shipments of product
• Analyzes least cost distribution methods, tracks cost, and implements cost saving initiatives
• Manages third party carriers to meet customer needs and assure that all products arrive safely and on-time

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business, or Agricultural Business, or related field. 2.7 cumulative GPA preferred OR 3+ years of relevant supervisory experience.
• Proven leadership, initiative, teamwork, and quantitative skills are necessary for success in this position
• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
• Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa
• Must be open to relocation or within a commutable distance of one of Hormel Food's shipping/warehouse facilities.

Location:

• Typical starting locations include Austin, Minnesota or Davenport, Iowa
• Location is based on business needs at the time an offer is made

Training:

• Approximately 4-6 weeks are spent in a hands-on environment at a manufacturing facility or distribution center environment to obtain the necessary skills to effectively manage people and get an understanding of how the distribution process is run
• Formal supervisory training and process control/product training
• Shipping and Warehouse Supervisors attend a virtual Inspired Hires orientation. This will include presentations by different divisions to increase product knowledge, company knowledge, and leadership skills.

Advancement:

• Opportunities for advancement include Inventory Management, Transportation or Purchasing Management positions within the same facility, another facility or the Corporate Office.
• A background in distribution will enable Shipping and Warehouse Supervisors to succeed in any area of Operations
• Additional opportunities may exist in different departments, facilities, or subsidiaries
