Business Planning & Operations Analyst
Meta is seeking a highly analytical and quantitative, impact-oriented Business Planning and Operations Analyst to join our Commerce Business Group Business Planning and Operations team. The role will serve as a core member in the centralized function within the team, and will primarily focus on business insights modeling and operational excellence to enable Commerce Business Group leadership to make effective data-driven, strategic operating decisions in an effort to optimize commerce business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background and experience managing large data sets (primarily in Excel and SQL), the ability to synthesize and make recommendations based on imperfect data from multiple sources, strong business intuition to guide their analysis, driving operational rigor and excellence through proactive process planning and automation on regular cadence or project basis, and the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally, supporting internal stakeholders that have external-facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will also be passionate about Meta, interested in e-commerce, intellectually curious, comfortable with ambiguity, confident in their time management skills, excel in team coordination and project/process management, comfortable presenting to groups, and excited about joining a high-impact team.

Business Planning & Operations Analyst Responsibilities:
- Lead deep dive analyses on drivers of key metrics and impact of Commerce programs
- Support central rhythm of the business reporting and analytics that scale insights on progress to goal, growth drivers and opportunity areas for the Commerce business
- Determine key performance indicators using internal and external data (e.g. revenue, product, market) to derive insights that will drive business decisions
- Own special analytics initiatives in coordination with key stakeholders and cross functional partners to answer tough business questions and drive business performance
- Build reporting and analytics tools, visualizations, and dashboards to allow Commerce Business Group leaders and teams to self-serve to key metrics and data, potentially in conjunction with Salesforce infrastructure for some teams
- Communicate findings and the “so what” of data analyses to stakeholder VPs and Directors
- Forecast GMV, set goal targets, report on and monitor the success of efforts with key third party partners and end clients/end users
Minimum Qualifications:
- Project management experience, including establishing a project vision and shipping through execution and coordination with cross-functional partners
- Experience presenting, including extracting insights from technical data sets to varied audiences and senior management
- Experience using data access tools and building visualizations using large datasets and multiple data sources
- Advanced SQL experience (Oracle, Vertica, Hive, etc.) or relational database experience (Oracle, MySQL)
- 5+ years of experience working in an analytical capacity developing insights, defining metrics, and making business recommendations
- Experience in financial modeling, ROI analysis, forecasting, data analysis, and experience seeing beyond numbers to drive sound decision-making from complex datasets
- Stakeholder management experience – including managing multiple cross-functional partners simultaneously
