The Business Development Manager FRESH is responsible for maximizing FRESH Product cargo revenue, development, and market share. This is achieved by generating new and reviewing existing Product sales programs with freight forwarders and shippers and within direct model(s). Lead/Commercial Product Manager has a global sales territory and is based at the Delta Cargo Headquarters office in Atlanta. This individual will report directly to the GM Product Development & Implementation.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Responsible for managing product integrity and quality in adherence to industry standards and guidelines to implement continuous improvement initiatives- This individual will be responsible for developing the DL Cargo FRESH strategy and executing all associated projects and initiatives
- Cross-divisional collaboration to ensure compliance with regulations
- Maintaining interfaces with stakeholders across the organization to ensure procedural consistency in all aspects of product handling
- Attending and speaking as a FRESH Expert at industry events and conferences
- Practices safety conscious behaviors in all processes and procedures
- Collaborate with our passenger sales teams and operations to maximize joint sales and business development
- Responsible for planning sales activities in conjunction with sales and product strategies and rational analysis of Product performance, market data and trends
- Monitoring process measurements to ensure performance of the FRESH product program according to stated objective
- Liaison with regulatory authorities on behalf of Delta and represent Delta at industry meetings
- Lead and shape the product strategy, submit timely sales plans, activity reports and programs to support the overall objectives for the position
- Manage the development and execution of capital and internal projects that are FRESH related
- Manage and lead service delivery and service recovery for Delta Cargos FRESH product
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
- 5 years related cargo sales experience is required.
- Should possess a strong Commercial and business acumen, orientation towards sales and understand how to create and maintain profitable business relationships with forwarders and shipper accounts.
- Extensive Product specialist knowledge and experience
- Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
- Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Tableau and the Sales Force platform.
- Must be available to work additional hours and/or days as needed. Required to make over-night business travel.
- Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Should possess an overall knowledge of company procedures and policies.
- Will possess analytical thinking, strong negotiation skills, solid decision-making abilities, able to balance multiple competing priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable in front of senior level executives and have exceptional presentation, oral and written skills.
- Must have relationship building abilities, be customer-focused and have good planning and organizational abilities and be able to work independently.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
