JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Bank is seeking a qualified individual to join its team of IT Application Managers. The Application Development Manager serves as the primary point of contact for a set(s) of related applications and has overall responsibility for those applications. This is a hands-on position that requires a combination of business application knowledge, strong analytic skills, technical acumen, project management experience, and excellent communication skills.

This specific role will focus primarily on buildout of the bank’s strategic Enterprise Data Warehouse. Responsibility for other applications could be included in future depending on the applicant’s experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the in-scope applications, including what business functions are provided by each, the technical architecture, and all application interfaces.
• Project management of application upgrades and patches. Coordinate with the business units, Information Technology, and various operations teams as necessary. Adhere to the bank’s SDLC and employ best practices to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the expectations of project sponsors and stakeholders.
• Analysis for application upgrades and patches. Document business requirements, use cases, test plans, deployment plans, and user documentation.
• Provide guidance to the technical staff for development activities and routine maintenance.
• Provide subject matter expertise to strategic projects.
• Assist strategic project teams with creation of use cases and integration testing (pre-UAT).
• Participate in technical design sessions.
• Proactively monitor for system issues and adherence to configurations standards. Lead issue resolution including reconciliation activities and data analysis and provide guidance to technical staff and business personnel.

Candidate Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years IT experience in the banking/finance industry highly preferred.
• Experience with one or more of the following; Capital Markets, Wealth management, analytics, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting strongly desired.
• Agile development experience
• Development experience with ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, TimeXtender, Building feeds
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence concepts and the deliverables associated with these types of projects
• Work with Business Analysts and Translate Business Requirements into Data Requirements
• Understand the data elements and their domains; understand relationships among those elements and inter-dependencies between models.
• Use acquired knowledge and develop Logical Data Models, Physical Data Models, and Data Element Dictionaries
• Understand and Maintain the data models for changes according to ongoing projects
• Perform impact analysis of changes to existing models
• Determine practicality and technical fit of the new changes coming in and propose models and review and get changes approved
• Ensure data model fits the overall ETL strategy in place in organization
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills with an ability to drive issues to consensus while promoting a positive collaborative environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Versed in development methodologies such as waterfall and agile.
• Heavy experience with applications support, systems integration, data conversions, file transfers, and applications installation, configuration, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Strong technical skills such as SQL Server, Oracle, MS Windows, Linux, Excellent analytical skills.
• Experience managing vendor relationships.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Willingness to take ownership and accountability.
• Familiarity with market data and reference data providers such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Moody’s, and S&P, with protocols such as FIX.
• Experience with financial regulatory standards such as Basel II/III and Dodd Frank are all plusses.

• Experience with JIRA, Bit Bucket/Github and Jenkins required. CI/CD pipeline, DevOps experience plus
• Detailed understanding of Domain Driven Design and Aspect Oriented Programming
• Large scale application development and integration experience, End-of-Day and Realtime feeds to warehouse, Report development
• Self-motivated when it comes to tasking and development planning
• Great communication skills and confidence to manage up
• Core Banking or Lending Business skills/knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of established and emerging data technologies, conversant in emerging tools like columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data
• Insure that meta-data in the enterprise data catalog meets all requirements.
• Communicate regularly with architects and modelers working in parallel tracks to maintain consistency of models and other deliverables.
• Experience working in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments (Al,Machine Learning, etc)
• Experience with internal and external audit remediations, documentation

Skills:

• 15+ years of Datawarehouse buildout along with Reporting framework, applications development experience, technical architecture and resource management experience
• 10+ years of experience building and supporting Enterprise Data Warehouse using multi-dimensional models
• Excellent Knowledge of Reference data, Master data management, Data Modelling, ETL tools, BI-Tools, Reporting tools (Cognos,Qlik)
• Technical know-how in TCP/IP, Security (Basic Auth, OAuth 1.0 and OAuth 2.0, SSL/TLS)
• Experience in an Agile development environment
• Expert knowledge on various Data modeling techniques: OLTP (normalized data standards across the enterprise.), ODS, EDW (dimensional, Facts)
• Demonstrated understanding of ETL and reporting processes as they relate to project delivery, e.g. : SSIS/ ETL/ DW/ Data integration / SQL Server / Design / Analysis/ other ETL tools like Informatica and Data Stage
• Hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling experience with Erwin
• Working knowledge in the creation of data infrastructure - such as views, stored procedures, ETL usage, data integration
• Working on Unstructured data harnessing it to derive meaningful insights
• Working with semi structured data JSON, Avro, parquet etc and managing the lifecycle of the data
• Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
