Your Role and Responsibilities
Role Introduction:
Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) leader is responsible for providing vision, planning, project coordination and management for the development of a cost-effective human resources information system (HRIS) practice centered around Workday platform. This includes implementing, facilitating, and maintaining efficient IT operations to meet current and future business needs within the HR organization. Ideal candidate would be responsible for analyzing and directing all functional related activities within the scope of the HRIS practice. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity and successful delivery of HR IT services to users throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, document, implement, and maintain a system of HRIS foundational principles including change management, governance, and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency. Develop and maintain a functional project plan that guides the review and remediation of current functionality based on upgraded or upcoming functionality. As required, procure IT contractors, and oversee their efforts.
  • Work closely with vendor service providers to support HR IS systems, such as Workday, Concur, etc to ensure a seamless operation and application availability
  • Lead the HRIS function by managing the day-to-day activities to support the Workday practices: HCM, payroll, benefits, security, finance, and other interrelated functions. Foster and maintain positive relationships with HRIS constituents, including senior management and the HR business customer base. Provide overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities.
  • Oversee and supervise payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Support the team through cyclical processes including quarter-end tax processing and year-end filings and related tax documentation.
  • Promote proactive approaches using the HRIS to solve business needs/problems while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the HRIS capabilities. Based on business need, negotiate priorities and support requirements with the IT department, functional staff at the field locations and others as appropriate.
  • Plan, budget and forecast HRIS needs and applications. Maintain awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future HRIS functionality. When apprised, the HRIS manager will review impending business issues that will have a direct impact on the HRIS and provide senior management with an assessment of the HRIS impact, scheduling considerations and other information required for a complete business case.
  • This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 15 or more years of relevant experience or the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position.
  • 3+ years performing HRIS post-production support on an enterprise Workday HRMS
  • Working knowledge of the payroll function
  • Leadership experience for direct and indirect resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
