About the role

This is a genuine opportunity for the right person to assist in the wellbeing to the communities within the Barkly Region to make their mark. Reporting to the Local Laws Ranger Manager, your objective is to reduce environmental health risks within the communities and increase the capacity of community members to promote and carry out 'healthy living practices'. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Council improves health conditions by maintaining public health and environmental standards and making our communities safe for both people and animals.
You will take responsibility for the enforcement of relevant by-laws relating to environmental health and animal control and practices for the Council.
What do you need?
We are looking for a person who can challenge the status quo, who will ask the tough questions, and has a true passion for making our communities safer. Ideally, you will have a Certificate III in Aboriginal Environmental Health or related discipline, and if you have previous experience working within the Aboriginal communities and management of animals then we would love to hear from you!
