Job Description

General Motors Performance Driven Marketing (PDM) team is seeking an individual who will leverage their industry experience to strategize, lead and manage data programs. Are you someone who is passionate about organization , communication and as a bridge between business and technology teams? If so, we may have the role you are looking for. As a Product Manager you will play a significant role in helping to bring together critical stakeholders to enable the delivery of products and platforms critical for our customers.

This individual will lead the data platform and have responsibility for sign-off on all production data sets (internal & external). They will accomplish these goals through effective collaboration with architects, engineers, and other product managers. This individual should lead by example displaying GM behaviors, commitment to personal development and commitment to creating a positive Workplace of Choice culture.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop a holistic platform data strategy

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the platform
  • Have an in depth understanding of the metadata and quality of the data on the platform
  • Create and maintain product backlogs for the platform
  • Manage and lead the portfolio process
  • Accountable for planning /coordination and oversight over end to end delivery of the data product which includes supporting and consulting various teams during the different phases of development.

  • Great people leader skills to direct, guide and support the team members
  • Understand program objectives and ensure key technology decisions are aligned with these objectives
  • Interface with business leadership to articulate business impact of data/technology challenges /decisions and facilitate decision making
  • Point of contact for external data and exploratory data analysis
  • Manage large complex programs and should be comfortable with dealing with ambiguity and make decisions accordingly

  • Product management experience and willingness to test, learn and improve
  • Engages with strategic initiatives and planning activities to identify opportunities to leverage data platform capabilities for the business
  • Understand the marketing domain and campaign management/ execution
  • Lead the analytic needs of the marketing community and design for the same.
  • Create and analyze relevant information and develop logic/governance/technology recommendations that are presented to senior management and business stakeholders

  • Identify, screen, and evaluate new data capability opportunities to address unmet internal and external customer needs
  • Act as key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the IT department, and outside vendors
  • Manage stakeholder expectations across the enterprise

Additional Job Description
  • 8+ years of relevant business/industry work experience leading large data programs
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, or another related field
  • System's thinking and understanding of data technologies
  • Strategic thinking and planning - Proactive and anticipatory in their thinking

  • Implementation experience on large data/digital transformation programs in a public/private cloud ecosystem
  • Technical Acumen - able to substantively contribute to detailed work planning and guide a variety of progress update discussions
  • Familiar with the Agile/hybrid agile methodologies
  • An ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly and concisely with both business and technical teams
  • Able to simplify and improve inefficient or unnecessarily complex processes

Compensation: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $161,295.00. An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
