Pre-Sales Specialist - AIOps

Introduction
Our AIOps Pre-Sales Specialists collaborate with Sales teams to identify and kickstart Management and AIOps opportunities and drive revenue. Specialists engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements for, Intelligent Change Risk Management, Cost Optimization, Application Scaling and Deployment and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance). They develop use cases that articulate the value proposition of IBM’s Management and Watson AIOps portfolio and how it differentiates from competitor’s solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities
This role is the start of your Automation career at IBM, where you will grow to become an expert in Watson AIOps that will see you as a trusted advisor to customers, IBM Sales teams and IBM Business Partners. Our Specialists understand the customer's business and technical requirements and the competitive landscape. They apply business insights, build, and maintain relationships, incorporate hardware, software and services into solutions and ensure customer readiness for implementation.

We are interested in candidates who have a passion for technology and data and come from one of the following degrees: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other degrees with a technical focus.

Responsibilities to build to on your Technical Watson AIOps Career
  • Build to becoming a subject matter expert for the IBM Watson AIOps Portfolio of products
  • Contribute to the development of qualified opportunities with the IBM Sales teams
  • Learn the IBM Technical Sales process to support the sales cycle and team
  • Support the Business Partner ecosystem
  • Develop technical and business essential skills through on-going education and self-study leveraging learning@IBM
  • Build an understanding of the AIOps competitive landscape and industry trends
  • Develop and progress qualified opportunities for Management and AIOps in collaboration with IBM Sales teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as working independently when required
  • Collaborate with other internal IBM teams to drive unmatched customer satisfaction

  • You’ve approximately 2 years of commercial experience since graduating with
    your IT/Technology degree
  • Functional knowledge of Cloud deployments and SaaS offerings
  • Functional understanding across the Monitoring landscape
  • Understanding of the following verticals: IT Operations, DevOps, SRE, Observability
  • Knowledge and experience on Kubernetes/Openshift (ideally)
  • Cloud & Virtualisation – AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, VMWare, etc.
  • Problem determination/solving
  • Modern architecture – microservices, service mesh, RESTful API
  • Knowledge of operating systems is desirable (Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms ideally)
  • Experience with SQL, Javascript or XML programming, Python, or R is desirable
  • Machine Learning model, data analytics/algorithm
  • Understand of IT operations such as
    • Infrastructure/Application monitoring
    • Log/Metric/Event/Alert/Alarm management system
    • DevOps/Automation tools – scripting (shell, python, ansible, etc.), infra-as-code, runbooks, etc.
