Meta seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Regulatory Litigation Counsel on Meta’s EMEA Disputes Regulatory team based in Dublin.The successful candidate will be joining a rapidly expanding international legal team to work on issues in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.The role will work with the Regulatory Litigation team on high-profile, precedent-setting regulatory inquiries and related litigation focusing on data privacy matters. The role requires a strong work ethic, ability to manage a varied workload, good judgement and a keen interest in learning about new technologies and areas of the law. Regulatory Litigation Counsel Responsibilities:

  • Engage and collaborate with outside counsel on multiple regulatory and litigation matters in Ireland and across EMEA.
  • Provide legal advice and assist in managing various stages of regulatory inquiries and consequent litigation in relation to matters pending before national regulators, as well as national and international courts with a focus on data protection, data security, as well as e-privacy issues in Ireland and across the EU.
  • Partner and coordinate with key internal stakeholders such as data protection teams, public policy and communications colleagues, business and product teams, and regional leadership.
  • Engage proactively in cross functional teams to provide internal legal advice across many subject areas, with a particular focus on assessing regulatory/litigation risk when informing product development.
  • Drive improvements and ability to project manage process changes, being a core team player and actively looking for opportunities to develop and improve processes and know-how.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE in a law firm or relevant in house experience.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong litigation experience with significant regulatory practise experience. If you are in private practise you should work in a relevant litigation department with a focus on contentious regulatory matters. In house you should work on litigation and regulatory practise as the core part of your role.
  • Familiarity with internet laws and issues, particularly GDPR and its application to online platforms helpful.
