Lynas Rare Earths is growing!
As part of our ‘Lynas 2025’ growth plan, we’re building a larger business to meet forecast demand growth in the critical metal industry.
Lynas’ rare earth materials are used in many high tech and future facing applications, including electronics, wind turbines and hybrid and electric vehicles. We’re diversifying our industrial footprint with processing facilities in optimal locations. This includes embarking on an expansion in Western Australia.
Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mines in the world. For this unique ore, the concentrator currently applies comminution (grind size of P80 20 microns), classification, oxide mineral flotation, and dewatering (thickening and filtration) with mud farming of the Tailings Storage Facility. Lynas is building a Processing facility in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia to process concentrate from the Mt Weld Mine and Concentration Plant. Mt Weld concentrator is looking to expand production to ensure capacity to feed the new Kalgoorlie processing facility.
