Your role
As our Senior Theatre Practitioner Scrub Nurse, you'll provide surgical support for patients, whether they’ve had a simple procedure or complex surgery. You’ll make sure that we give every patient the best possible service and care. All in an environment that puts patients and staff at ease.
You will work in our busy and dynamic main adult theatre, as part of a multi-disciplinary team that’s setting the benchmark for clinical excellence. So you’ll need to be flexible and keen to support with shared tasks.
What you’ll do
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate peri-operative patient care
  • Supervise and delegate work to junior grades, non-registered and less experienced staff
  • Create and maintain accurate care records
  • Help to position and prepare patients as directed by the surgical team, ensuring that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the laboratory
  • Help to control cross infection
  • Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery
What you’ll bring
  • RN - 1st level Registration Adult and/or Children
  • Alternatively, you might have a Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies, or be qualified to ODP Level 3 NVQ or ODA 752
  • Scrub nurse experience
  • Recent perioperative experience
