Our Wireless Power Technology team is on a mission to build the world’s best Wireless Charging user experience. This team produces Wireless Charging designs that can be found today in many Apple products - iPad, iPhone, Watch and AirPods! New challenges arise every day that require the sharp problem solving skills of individuals in this team. Are you up for the challenges? We are looking for an expert hardware or software engineer, ideally with governance or commercial experience to lead our global standardisation activities. You will need to be effective in leading and co-ordinating both internal multi-functional teams, and external partners. You’ll need to have a good command of strategy, vision and purpose, while at the same time carrying out that strategy and driving day-to-day efforts. Success in this role will only be possible by collaborating with people at the forefront of their respective fields and bringing their skills together in an environment that nurtures creativity, partnerships, and thinking of old problems in new ways. The role provides the opportunity to define a significant and globally impactful difference.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent executive presentation, communication and documentation skills
  • Background in EE and/or SW product development, preferably for consumer electronics applications
  • High performance leader with the ability to build long-term strategic goals while blending those into concrete, tactical tasks for the team
  • Strong collaborative insight for extracting the best output from the team’s individual contributors
  • Governance (eg board), standards legal and/or commercial experience preferred, but not essential

Description

You will: - Build and manage relationships with key partners to help achieve Apple’s long-term vision - Drive high quality outcomes across operations in all areas: standards development, certification, legal contracts, financial budgeting, performance evaluations, quality management, continuous improvement metrics and so on. - Assist with operational aspects of standardisation (calibration, certification, market inspection) - Track due dates and prepare for meetings and contributions - Be the first responder to external queries (“field applications”), streamlining and prioritising contact with internal teams - Assist multi-functional teams to achieve key outcomes as per agreed objectives - International travel required, typically 4 times per year

Education & Experience

- BE/BSc/MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent - Experience with power electronics (ideally wireless charging is preferred) - 7+ years of industry experience, with a minimum 3 years as a contributor to a standards development organization (SDO) e.g. WPC, USB-IF, NFC Forum, Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance or similar
