Travel Insurance Product Manager

Role Purpose:
The Product Manager, Travel will play a key role managing ensuring the financial stability and profitable growth of travel & general insurance products.
The Product Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the product strategies, from the coordination of the research, through to the design of new and the review of existing products, and implementation in collaboration with key Sales Managers and other AWP Teams. Reporting to the General Manager this is a senior team position, where the incumbent will be required to often represent Product in various forums.
Key Responsibilities are:
Product Management & Development
- Product management and development that delivers sustainable customer-centric outcomes to reflect current or future regulatory legislation and / or changing market conditions.
- Ensure that any product development, modification or termination is undertaken in accordance with the Product Governance Framework.
- In conjunction with Sales and Product Market and Innovation teams, support the development of new products in alignment with strategy.
- Product SME for the Travel & General Insurance products.
- Content owner for Travel & General Insurance materials, including managing content updates for all relevant collateral in accordance with company procedure.
- Design and recommend final offering for all Travel & General Insurance Products, new and amended, to the Product Council.
- Design, implement and maintain product and product processes across functional areas, including Sales and Operations.
- Together with Strategic Account Managers and Pricing Managers with Underwriting team, manage partners towards strong profitable growth positions.
Strategy
- Contribute to the development of strategic options across the Product suite, through the provision of quality advice and analysis.
- Contribute to the Finance & Actuarial functions in the development of accurate financial estimates for strategic options.
- Assist the Sales functions to complete risk analysis of strategic options to determine the optimal portfolio.
Reporting
- Manage the Travel & General Insurance Product Catalogue and ensure it is up to date.
- Contribute product insights to performance reporting for client, internal or HQ requirement.
- Work with Actuarial to develop reporting structures.
- Act on product and partner performance reporting, isolate trends and capitalise on all opportunities in a timely manner.
Customer feedback
- Monitor customer complaints and feedback
- Based on feedback recommend product improvements to maximise customer value
The successful candidate will be able to show:
- Displays exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to analyse information, identify problems and develop appropriate solutions.
- General / travel insurance experience would also be desirable.
- InDesign / Adobe suite desirable but this is not essential.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with multiple stakeholders and demonstrated organisational influencing skills.
- Ability to develop, implement and monitor product and pricing strategies to ensure profitable growth.
- Demonstrated ability to identify trends to capitalise on opportunities within a market.
- Demonstrated success associated with research and/or design of insurance or other products.
- Highly developed negotiation skills, including the capacity to initiate creative and innovative thinking to assist AWP, our partners and other stakeholders reach their objectives.
