This position is responsible for providing direction and leadership to the Shift Team Members to meet facility goals in the 5 focus areas of Operational Excellence including Safety, Quality, People, Service and Cost. This includes: monitoring daily safety practices, securing site assets, allocating manpower to ensure service, and cost objectives are met. This role is also accountable for fostering a team environment through effective and appropriate communication, and providing direct management of warehouse employees and team leaders. This individual plans the daily work schedule by coordinating with outside vendors and internal departments.

Major Tasks Include:
  • Plans the daily work schedule
  • Coordinates shipments/deliveries to meet shipping and on-time delivery goals
  • Monitors daily productivity and safe working practices
  • Helps manage the workload and work distribution to meet goals
  • Coordinates and plans employee training, development, performance management and corrective action
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with workforce to enhance BMS (Business Management System) and Operational Excellence to meet facility goals and communications
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Projects and Six Sigma training
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a High school diploma or comparable certificate (e.g. GED)
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment, or completion of the GSC Accelerated Development program

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must have experience using MS Office Products (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Have 2 years of experience in a warehouse/distribution, manufacturing or related environment
  • Trained in Hi-Lift, Sit-Down and Reach-Truck warehouse functions
  • Previous leadership experience in a warehouse/distribution or manufacturing environment
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, working towards a degree, or willingness to pursue a degree
  • Formal training and/or experience with continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
  • Previous experience with timekeeping and/or production control systems

  • Proven customer service, decision making, and high impact communication
  • Proven record of protecting others’ well-being and inspiring them to comply with safe operating procedures
  • Established record of creating action plans for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time.
